EDITOR'S STATEMENT
by Sanya Gupta, Co-Editor-in-Chief
I can proudly say that I can now make mac and cheese without burning it! Nope, that’s a lie. I can, however, make vegan croissants, pad thai, and a variety of soufflés, all of which the Food Network has listed under “difficult.” Don’t bother asking me why I can’t make mac and cheese, I won’t have an answer.

Much like the rest of society, I’ve taken advantage of my time in quarantine by engaging in important activities like cutting myself (curtain) bangs, practicing my eyeliner skills, LOTS of baking, and Chloe Ting workouts. While there are frequent bleak moments, I’ve actually enjoyed the past months. This isn’t to say I’m not craving a hug or some kind of physical affection, because I definitely am. But, reflection periods and ability to avoid walks to school in the rain aren’t half bad.

So while entropy measures the disorder of a system, and while the entropy in a system increases over time, we hope each of you can find some order or solace in your own lives. A way to move past the disorder. The 2nd law of thermodynamics states that the universe is moving into disarray, but there’s still some degree of organization keeping all of us together.

We hope our sixteenth issue can offer some comfort within the randomness around all of us. Despite everything, we hope you can find strength to do what you love. This issue contains empowering pieces featuring artists who make our community the welcoming space it is. Happy reading and stay safe everyone.
